I Will Work Against Peter Obi in 2027, Cubana Chief Priest Declares, Sparking Political Storm in Nigeria

Popular businessman and entrepreneur, Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as the High Priest of Cubana, has revealed that he plans to work with Peter Obi in the 2027 presidential election.

The philanthropist, who supported the Labour Party candidate in the 2023 election, revealed his new position on his Instagram page during a heated exchange with his followers.

Questions about his recent political shift and his involvement with the Tinubu-supporting group called the City Boy Movement have sparked online debates.

When a follower asked if he really intends to work with Obi in the upcoming election, he replied without hesitation.

Yes, hopefully not because I worked with Obi in the last election, even as a special adviser to an APC governor, he said.

His remarks drew backlash, with critics pointing to his past problems with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

Some suggested that working with the current administration would not protect him from future investigations.

He responded with disbelief, downplaying the issue, boasting that visiting the anti-corruption agency was almost a sign of success.

If you have never been to the EFCC in Nigeria, you have never succeeded, he said.

The debate then turned to the South-East and the issue of regional unity during the 2023 elections.

While some commentators insisted that Obi could do better with strong support from the elite in the region, the Cubana High Priest responded angrily, telling critics to support whoever they wanted and questioning what progress such ideas had brought to the South East.
